Agricultural & Rural Projects
Some of our earliest customers back in 1985 were agricultural and rural properties.

In those days all the systems were stand alone (not grid connected) and to this day grid isolated systems remain an important specialist service for us. Since the advent of grid connection around a decade ago rural locations have become the ideal places to install larger commercial scale turbines and PV arrays. In recent years ground mounted PV arrays and 'Solar Barns' have become particularly popular.
When designing stand alone power systems for all manner of uses, from powering remote equipment to large houses and commercial activities, we have to balance the two technologies, wind and sun, to ensure a steady flow of power throughout the year. There is something inherently natural about a farm or rural property harvesting energy in tune with the cycles of nature.
These days a rural property can have both an independent power store and be grid connected - providing real energy security whilst still capitalising from exporting power when a surplus is available.
If you wish to export power on a commercial scale you will need a three phase electrical supply or larger. We work closely with the national grid district network operators and can identify and quickly ascertain what the potential of your land may be for both generation, and power export.
